Virataz R Tablet is an antiretroviral medicine containing atazanavir and ritonavir, used in the treatment of HIV-1 infection by reducing the multiplication of the virus and helping protect the immune system from further damage. The medicine is generally used under close medical supervision, especially in patients with liver problems, as it is mainly processed in the liver and may require careful monitoring of liver function during treatment. Some patients may experience reversible increases in bilirubin levels or mild side effects, and in rare cases, immune reconstitution syndrome, PR interval changes, or pancreatitis may occur, particularly in those with existing risk factors.
